Adopt A Cat
  Articles

Due to the Cat Overpopulation Problem in Houston, and the fact that we are a no-kill shelter and sanctuary we are not currently accepting any new cats into our program.  We are very sorry for this.  We are just currently overwhelmed!

We can, however, help you find low cost spay and neuter.

If you know of anyone looking for a new kitty addition, please refer them to use, we have so many sweet cats that are in need of homes.

Adopt A Cat's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and foster homeless felines until safe and caring permanent homes are found for them. Adopt A Cat also works toward lessening the problem of pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering its rescues, by educating the public about the importance of sterilizing companion animals, and by providing information on low-cost spay/neuter programs.

Adopt A Cat maintains a "no kill" policy. This means only animals, whose pain and suffering cannot be alleviated by any other means, are euthanized.

We bring our cats and kittens into your community by having adoptions at PETCO's and PETSMART's around Houston. We also hold adoptions out of our shelter BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. With your help hopfully soon we will be able to set permanant adoption hours at the shelter. All of our cats are spayed or neutered before they are adopted.

We are a grassroots organization. Our growth and success are due to the incorporation of individuals who rescue the cats in their neighborhoods, the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of donors and businesses in our community.

We give sick and injured cats the treatment and care they need to become the healthy, happy companions they are meant to be!

Visits to the shelter require an appointment.  If you wish to visit, please call 281.580.6652.
